Flowers are for more than just Decoration!

I know the game is entitled Barn Buddy, and you figured that you should be only growing and harvesting crops, but think again. In my experience, growing and harvesting flowers gives you the most amount of coins, and in a timely manner too. Before flower-harvesting was released, we had little choice but to plant fruits and veggies that took to grow! The payout was good (if the value of your produce  had not plummeted due to excessive bug infestation and weed-sprouting) but you had to wait so long in between harvest times (in the case of double, triple and quadruple harvest crops). No more.
As soon as you can afford to, invest in red poinsettias and use all your plots to grow them. The turnover is fast (fast crop growth time) and the payment is good. Keep doing this in cycles. As soon as you have saved up enough coins, start investing in roses and orchids for even greater profits! The trick about flowers is that they are all single harvest, so as soon as you have harvested them, you can re-plant or choose to do something else with the coins. This makes for efficient gameplay as you free up your plots. With crops, your plots are tired up until the crop has matured several times. You have no choice but to leave the slowly growing crop there. Roses and orchids however are both single harvesting and immediately pay you back your investment, in addition to freeing up your plots. It has worked for me. I have been able to purchase all the new plots in a less than a month, while purchasing animals and backgrounds along the way. I haven’t planted crops in months!
